Week 6: Diaries of a Chocolate Chip

This week I'm carrying around a Chocolate Chip sized embryo, according to my Ovia app.

While I haven't gained any weight yet (I'm not complaining) and my waist is sitting solidly at 81cm, I'm definitely feeling the effects of the perma-exhaustion and a few moderate bouts of nausea. I honestly still feel incredibly fortunate to be as symptom-free as I am, knowing that many women are hugging the porcelin throughout their entire First Trimester. This week the baby has developed some facial features (including nasal pits), spleen, umbilical cord, and the beginning stages of legs.

Cravings: Ramen, I can't get enough ramen. Aversions: Chocolate Vegan Shakeology (the way I generally make it is super thick and for some reason that's absolutely repulsive to me). I've switched to Vanilla Shakeo with Orange Juice and Almond Milk, which is lower in caffeine anyway so it's probably for the better.

Symptoms: Exhaustion, like ALL THE TIME. Occasional Nausea. Tender Breasts.

Baby's First Concert: Kings of Leon at Bill Graham Civic Auditorium

To be completely honest, I'm struggling a little between not being able to share the exciting news with friends and family (yet) and not really feeling "pregnant" yet, I'm very anxious to get in for an appointment where I can get confirmation that everything is moving along smoothly. This week, we have our first appointment: A Phone Consultation (how lackluster) but hopefully it will lead to that first ultrasound appointment so I can see that lil nugget in progress.
