Sunday. Champ is golfing. I'm at home, with a few ingredients at my disposal and Whole Foods within walking distance. Open browser to Google: "butternut squash lasagna".
First hit looked like a winner. Shopping list made. Walk to the store. Slave over a hot over (not really, it was darn easy just took a while to bake and puree the squash).
Champ returns home (so happy that I'd even thought about dinner, much less prepared it, cleaned the kitchen, and 20 minutes left on the oven timer - enough time for a shower). Boom. Already feeling like I'd won wife of the year.
Then came the question... "What's in it?"
My answer (proudly) "Butternut squash, ricotta, spinach, and I added italian turkey sausage because I wanted it"
He goes "Is that all?"
I'm like "Yeah, it's not a tomato sauce recipe."
He's like "Did you put noodles?"
I'm thinking 'duh' but I say "Yeah"
He needs clarification "Like real noodles?"
"Yeah"
"Oh my gosh, you're the best. I thought maybe you'd use some freaky shit instead. I'm so excited. ohmygosh (insert 1000 other comments about how amazing I am)"
I guess this is all it takes to please your husband, use actual noodles in your lasagna. #likeachamp

So here's the recipe (that I based the recipe off of). I made a few tweak on amounts and added italian turkey sausage to every layer. Enjoy! Lemme know if you try it out.
